A Letter from our Founder

As a lifelong gaming enthusiast and a passionate public health advocate, I have been dismayed to see the devastating impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on the casino industry. This spring, while I watched casinos around the world being forced to shut their doors to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, I wondered whether I could use some of my expertise as a a licensed healthcare practitioner and 20-year pharmaceutical industry executive focused on chronic respiratory and addictive illnesses to develop a way to help protect players as casinos reopened.

Because traditional casino environments include high-touch activities that increase the risk of pathogen transmission, I knew that when casinos were allowed to reopen, they would be focused on ways to reduce the threat of virus transmission while allowing their guests to resume their favorite activities. This knowledge led me to develop our novel Touch-LESS Gaming Sensor Technology as a way to help reduce the transmission of pathogens on video slot and poker machines, enabling casinos to easily upgrade existing machines with sensor activated buttons that minimize physical touch. Our technology, I believe, can play an important part in reducing exposure to pathogens like the coronavirus that can be transmitted via physical gaming surfaces and can help protect high-risk patrons, casino employees and the communities they serve.

Like you, I’m concerned about the health and safety of gamblers and casino employees as the industry reopens in the new reality that’s been reshaped by the current pandemic. According to the CDC and WHO, individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma or other chronic respiratory illnesses are at greater risk of morbidity and mortality related to COVID-19, and it’s imperative that we do what we can to provide a safer gaming environment. Recognizing these risks and understanding that we all must do our part to help the economy remain open safely, and Touch-LESS Gaming is committed to working with the industry to leverage our technology to provide a safer, more sanitary gaming environment.

In gratitude and health,

Christy
